Core Strategy DPD Consultation
The Broads Authority, as the local planning authority for the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads, is replacing the Broads Local Plan 1997 and linked supplementary planning guidance with a Local Development Framework (LDF). The LDF is made up of Development Plan Documents (DPDs) and Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) that together set the policies and proposals for the development and use of land in the Broads.
The first DPD to be prepared is the Core Strategy DPD. This document sets the vision for the Broads up to 2021, including environmental, economic and social objectives and the primary policies for achieving that vision. The Core Strategy DPD was adopted in September 2007. The adopted DPD and accompanying documents may be viewed on the Local Development Framework page.
In preparing the Core Strategy, we consulted first on the Issues and Options the Core Strategy would need to address, and then on the Preferred Options. The submission Core Strategy was then subject to independent examination by the Secretary of State, to consider the 'soundness' of the document.
