Implementing Electronic Government (IEG)
The Broads Authority's IEG Programme of projects undertook to achieve the following goals by the end of 2005:
- Provide electronic channels of access to the range of Authority services, such as online payment facilities, in addition to normal access channels
- Improve the availability of services and information out of office hours via electronic channels such as the Authority's website
- Provide services at our information centres which are normally only available at Authority headquarters in Colegate, Norwich
- Provide all Authority staff with improved access to our information systems, so they in turn can provide an improved service to all users of the Broads
The Broads Authoirty has continued to implement systems into and beyond 2006 that meet the objectives set out above.
As part of the government's wider IEG programme the Authority regularly reported back to central government and the public via annual IEG statements. The Authority submitted its IEG 6 statement to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister in March 2006. The IEG 6 return is the final self-assessment document of the IEG programme.
