Planning Committee
The Planning Committee (pdf document) [1205kb] exercises many of the Authority's powers and duties in relation to planning. The Broads Authority is the Local Planning Authority for the protected area of the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads. This means that planning applications are considered by the Broads Authority's own Planning Committee rather than by the committees of the district councils. Meetings are open to the public. Applicants and objectors to development proposals may speak to the Committee. Please refer to Public Speaking at Planning Committee. A list of planning applications made to the Authority is published weekly on the Authority's website. Not all planning applications are brought before the Committee as some are dealt with by officers under delegated powers. The Planning Committee is also involved in the development of planning policies for the Broads Authority. They receive and comment on reports on emerging issues and policies.
Please refer to the Committee Timetable for meeting dates, and to Agendas and Minutes for Planning Committee meetings.
Papers for meetings before 1 June 2005 can be obtained from the Broads Authority offices. Please telephone 01603 610734 or email via our contact form by selecting Committees from the Who to Contact box.
