Strategy
This page introduces a number of key documents that set out the strategies, plans and policies and strategies that guide the work of the Broads Authority and it partners in managing the Broads. Click on the links below for more details.
Broads Plan
The Broads Plan is the key strategic management plan for the Broads. It sets out a vision, aims and objectives for the Broads, and coordinates a wide range of strategies, plans and policies relevant to the area with the purposes and duties set out in the Broads Acts. The current Broads Plan was adopted in 2011.
An electronic version of the plan, which provides monitoring updates and supporting information, is available at www.broads-plan.co.uk.
Local Development Framework
The Local Development Framework is gradually replacing the Broads Local Plan and linked supplementary planning guidance. It contains a set of Local Development Documents that together set out the spatial policies and proposals for development and land use in the Broads. These policies will be used in determining planning applications.
Corporate Planning: Business Plan, Budget and Annual Report
The Business Plan sets out how the Broads Authority proposes to allocate its resources and work programmes towards achieving its overall objectives. It provides a link between the Broads Plan and the day-to-day activities of staff and partner organisations.
The Authority is funded through National Park Grant provided by Defra and navigation income funded by toll payers. Details of annual income and expenditure are set out in the Budget report.
The Annual Report highlights some of the key achievements of the Authority and its partners over a 12-month period.
