Strategic Priorities
Based on the Broads Plan, the Broads Authority has a small set of corporate ‘strategic priorities’ with accompanying projects and key targets. Progress against these priorities is reported at each Broads Authority meeting, as part of monitoring the delivery of the Broads Plan. The strategic priorities are detailed below.
Priorities 2009/10 – 2011/12
1. Develop a long-term vision (50-100 years) for the Broads in conjunction with key partners to respond to climate change.
2. Implement an integrated approach (0-20 years) to the management of the Broads landscape.
3. Work with the boating community & local organisations to provide a safe environment for navigation.
4. Reach a wider audience with appropriately interpreted information and opportunities for enjoying the special qualities of the Broads.
5. Maximise the benefits from the Broadland Flood Alleviation Project through working with EA, BESL and others.
6. Increase the organisational and financial capacity of the Authority through effective partnership working.
7. Implement actions to reduce the Authority’s carbon footprint.
