Broads area - external funding sources

A variety of sources offer grant aid for projects in the Broads. If you are looking for project funding, some bodies that may be able to provide help are listed below, with links to the appropriate websites.

Awards for All - Awards for All provides grants of between £300 and £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.

BiffaWard - A Landfill Tax Community Fund scheme which offers four levels of funding: Community Grants, Biodiversity Grants, Small Grants and Flagship Grants.

Big Lottery Fund - A major funding body offering a wide variety of funding programmes in support of community projects related to the voluntary sector, health, education, the environment and regeneration.

Heritage Lottery Fund - Small and large grants are available for projects involving the national heritage of the UK.

Business Link - A source of help and advice on how to find the right business grant. Includes information for applicants in the fields of start-up aid, new products, research and innovation, tax relief and allowances.

East of England Development Agency (EEDA) - Grants are offered for projects across a range of themes including business, tourism and the environment. The regional administration for Norfolk is Shaping Norfolk's Future.

Norfolk Community Foundation - Norfolk Community Foundation is a grant giving foundation that awards grants to local groups and projects that are in real need of funding and that will make a real difference to the community and the people they serve.

Norfolk Rural Community Council - Norfolk Rural Community Council is a leading charity that promotes, supports and works with rural communities through active partnerships to sustain and improve the quality of life for the people of Norfolk.

Waste Recycling Environmental (WREN) - This landfill tax credit scheme offers grants to enhance the social environment, nature conservation and heritage aspects of the community. Projects must be located within a WREN operating area.

County and District Councils

Local councils administer grant schemes for a range of local projects, including those dealing with the arts, recreation, volunteering and conservation.

Norfolk County Council - Help to find suitable funding for voluntary groups or small businesses.

North Norfolk District Council - Grants include community projects, arts, sports and conservation.

South Norfolk Council - The council offers a number of grant schemes dealing with the community, housing, environmental projects, arts and recreational activities.

Broadland District Council 

  •  community grants - Grants to help to meet the needs of local groups and organisations through the development and provision of community based projects.
