BA.103     New Victory Hall, Neatishead: Ground Source Heat Pump Victory Hall  Installation of a ground source heat pump rather than a conventional oil-fired boiler in a new, low carbon, eco-friendly village hall complex, which will be used by three neighbouring Broads communities.   £19,000  
BA.106    Business Start-Up Grant for New Reed-Cutters Paul Eldridge and Rowan Nichols  Business start-up grant for two young reed-cutter graduates of the HLF Broads Bursary Scheme. The SDF grant will part-fund an initial outfit of equipment that will allow the two partners to work year-round.  £2,136 
BA.111       Happing Bag for Life   Stalham with Happing Partnership   A youth project-inspired scheme to produce and sell 2,200 re-usable hessian shopping bags branded to the local area. Bags will be sold at farmers’ markets and tourism outlets and the money raised will be used to fund the purchase of more bags in due course.  £1,000  
BA.113      A Day in the Broads   VisitNorwich  Minority funding of 175,000 folded A3 leaflets describing what to see and do in The Broads. The SDF contribution funded editorial content promoting sustainable tourism in The Broads.  £750   
BA.114 Sustainable Grounds Development for Broads Secondary Schools - Pilot Project Landscaping for Biodiversity/The Hewett School A pilot programme that will promote sustainability in Broads secondary schools via an understanding of biodiversity and its management. The project will address a recognised deficiency in the integration of outdoor learning in this sector and will build on the lessons learnt during ‘Broad Futures’. £7,840
BA.115     Carbon Audit for the Broads -  Scoping Study  Broads Authority  An initial data gathering and assessment exercise that will explore and establish the scope of the full scale carbon foot-printing exercise that will follow in Phase 2. The work will be carried out by CRed at UEA. £5,825 
BA.116    Broads Sustainable Lifestyle Road Show  Low Carbon Britain  Majority funding of a series of family orientated exhibitions with seminars in at least five Broads communities. Topics to be covered included carbon reduction, resource management and energy efficiency. Regrettably the project had to be curtailed after only two events because of poor attendances.  £16,495 
BA.117     Whitlingham Outdoor Education Centre Canoes  Norfolk County Council Children’s Services  Purchase of a fleet of up to 20 open canoes that will be used by Whitlingham Outdoor Education Centre to promote canoeing to young people in particular.  Personal and skills development, social inclusion, improved physical and mental well-being and the environment will all be addressed.   £7,265

A programme for socially disadvantaged young people from Norwich who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) and who will spend one day a week at Whitlingham Country Park working on conservation projects and carrying out team building, confidence building and motivational exercises.

 BA.119   Energy Tools for Secondary Schools  Norfolk County Council Children’s Services  Minority funding of an EU project that will develop highly innovative computer interfaces that will allow young people to understand ‘real time’ energy usage within their schools, compare it with other partner schools in Norfolk, Suffolk and Stavanger and evaluate their carbon management strategies.  £7,603
BA.120     Climate Change Challenge: Visit to the Centre for Alternative Technology  Eastern Region Gifted & Talented Partnership  Part funding of a visit to the Centre for Alternative Technology by 20 Gifted and Talented children from Norfolk and Suffolk who are engaged in a Climate Change Challenge project.  Nine of the 20 children are from Broads schools and four of these are Looked After Children.

BA.121     Establishment of the Three Rivers Way Association   The Three Rivers Way Association  Establishment and promotion of a community group that is campaigning for the development of a safe route for walkers, cyclists and other non-motor vehicle users between Hoveton, Horning, Ludham and Potter Heigham. The bulk of the grant will be used to fund awareness raising materials and events.   £1,000  
BA.122     Suffolk Energy Busters  Suffolk County Council/National Trust  A five school pilot project that will build on the good practice and experience gained during BA.59 Broader Energy Choices to develop an energy programme for Broads primary schools in Suffolk.     £7,754
BA.123     Flegg High School Biomass Project   Flegg High School  Part-funding of a new 550kW biomass boiler that will reduce the school’s energy consumption by 197,000 kWh and CO2 emissions by 177 tonnes p.a., be used as a teaching resource and help raise Martham’s awareness of sustainability issues and renewables.  £30,000  
BA.124    Ellingham Wind Turbine Enhancement Project  Ellingham VC Primary School Installation of a wireless weather station, which will initially be used to monitor wind speed and help assess the true potential of the school’s wind turbine.   £700
BA.125   Carbon Neutral Workshops Nutmeg Puppet Company A series of 15 all-day workshops in Broads primary and middle schools that will encourage innovative thinking about ways of living with a reduced dependence on carbon-based technologies.    £6,081 
BA.126    Upton Marshes Restoration - Wind Pumps  Norfolk Wildlife Trust  Part funding of two wind pumps, which will be used to manage water levels - and therefore habitat - at the Upton Broad and Marshes Nature Reserve.  £5,602 
BA.127    Country Trust Broads Initiative  The Country Trust  An initiative that will introduce 450 children from deprived areas of Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to The Broads landscape, its management and wildlife.    £5,000 
BA.128    Broads Businesses Environmental Support Scheme  Norfolk County Council  A pilot project that will focus on sustainable waste management in the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads area. The pilot will provide 1,000 tourism businesses with advice on a range of environmental issues and will include a detailed review of 50 businesses and the development of a Broads Waste Recycling Plan.  £16,250 
 BA.130    Sustainable Rowing Project- Phase 2  Beccles Rowing Club  Majority funding of Amateur Rowing Association training for three new coaches. This will allow BRC to maximise the use of its boats- in particular those used by young members and funded by BA. 109.  £999
 BA.131    Towards a more sustainable Bungay  Sustainable Bungay  Part funding of the public consultation phases of a project that will allow Bungay to benchmark its carbon footprint; raise public awareness; join the Transition Town network; and develop a Town Plan.  £4,646
 BA. 132    YMCA Entry to Employment- Forest Schools  YMCA Training  A one year extension of YMCA Training's sucessful Forest School-based course (BA.108), which caters for socially disadvantaged 16 - 19 year olds from Norwich who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). Up to 160 young people will benefit.  £9,550
 BA.133    HSBC Youth Initiative  Hickling Broad Sailing Club A project that will introduce young people without their own boats to competitive dinghy racing. The SDF funding will provide three race specification dinghies, which will be used exclusively by junior club members.  £9,445
 BA.134    Carbon Audit for the Broads  Broads Authority  A full carbon audit of the greater Broads (the area SDF funds within and which the Broads Authority considers to be within its 'sphere of influence'). The project will also include a separate, self-funded, audit of the Broads Authority's own operations.  £30,000
 BA.135    Whitlingham Wayfarers  Whitlingham OEC/ Norfolk County Council Children's Services  Co-funding of the purchase of three high specification Wayfarer dinghies, which will be used to introduce 500+ youngsters a year from Norfolk and Norfolk schools to advanced dinghy sailing.  £9,775
 BA.136    Wilder Qualifications  Avocet House School in partnership with Norfolk County Council Children's Services.  Majority funding of a collaborative project that will allow Avocet House School and Norfolk Children's Services to develop a framework that will allow disadvantaged young people who are at risk of exclusion to gain nationally recognised qualifications.  £10,875
 BA. 137    Beccles to Reedham Ferry Cycle Route  Beccles Cycling Strategy in partnership with Norfolk County Council  Minority funding of a project that will upgrade an existing un-signed cycle route between Beccles and Reedham Ferry. The work will be carried out to National Cycle Network Standards and the upgraded route will become part of National Route 31.  £5000
 BA.138    S.A.P.Lings School Allotment Project  Chapel Break Infant School  A two year project that will introduce the 310 children at the school and the local community to sustainable and organic food production, healthy eating; recycling; biodiversity; and the ecology of the local environment.  £8,610
 BA.139    Care Farming at Clinks Farm - Business Plan  East Anglia Food Link  Development of a business plan that will help EAFL and partners to bid for the tenancy of one of Norfolk's Country farms. If successful a new social enterprise will be created that will operate Clinks Farm as a Care Farm producing food for local consumption.  £1,000
