Windsurfing
Windsurfing can be fast, fun and exciting. With the minimum of technical knowledge and equipment, you can soon be travelling across the water.
Windsurfing (also called boardsailing) is a sport involving travel over water on a small 2 - 4.7 metre board powered by wind acting on a single sail which is connected to the board via a flexible joint. The sport is a hybrid between sailing and surfing.
The sailboard might be considered the most minimalist version of the modern sailing boat, with the major exception that steering is accomplished by tilting the mast and sail rather than by using a rudder.
There are a number of clubs that cover windsurfing in the area.
Hickling Broad Windsurfing Club
Hickling Broad Windsurfing Club is situated at Hickling, on the Broads, next to the parish staithe and behind the Pleasure Boat Inn.
