Local Notice to Mariners No 5 2007
Notice of Bridge Opening Times & Suspension of
0945 & 1430 Small Boat Openings Feb/March
Mariners and Port Users are advised that due to the ongoing major bridge refurbishment during 2007 all vessels requiring a bridge lift are requested to give 45 minutes notice to Lowestoft Port Control, on VHF 14 or telephone 01502 572286.
This 45 minutes notice also applies to all Small Boat Opening Times as published in the ABP Port of Lowestoft Tide Tables 2007. This notice time will be reduced back to the normal 20 minutes on satisfactory completion of the proposed refurbishment.
During the months of February and March 2007 the 0945 and 1430 small boat openings will be suspended. Small craft may have the opportunity to take advantage of a commercial bridge opening, however due to the traffic conditions in Lowestoft it may not always be possible to provide this service if it has been an extended commercial opening.
