Protection of ABP Employees from Passive Smoking
Mariners and Port Users are advised that from 1st July 2007 new UK legislation requires all workplaces, with some limited exceptions, to become smoke free environments.
While this does not cover ships, ABP wishes to ensure our employees are protected from the harmful effects of passive smoke whilst at work. We request that owners, operators and masters of vessels provide:-
A smoke free area in all enclosed spaces that an ABP employee may be required to work in, or have use of in rest periods.
