NOTICE TO MARINERS


SUNKEN VESSEL - LOWESTOFT INNER HARBOUR



Mariners and Port Users are advised that the vessel ‘Welsh Conquest (Ex Aisha)’ has sunk at her moorings in position 52° 28.60’N, 001° 43.225’E, (alongside Harbour Road Jetty).

The vessel is sitting on the bottom, outside of the navigable channel, but is listing heavily towards the channel. The harbour authority has deployed an oil spill fence boom and securing anchors around the vessel which have been marked with pellet buoys. The vessel, boom and anchor lines lie close to the Northern side of the Channel in the vicinity of the Harbour Road Jetty

Mariners are urged to navigate with extreme caution the vicinity of Harbour Road Jetty, particularly during the hours of darkness.
