Advanced Notice of Overnight Bridge Closures
Mariners and Port Users are advised that due to major refurbishing works on the A12 Bascule Bridge, there will be overnight bridge restrictions over the following periods during October, November and December 2007. During the periods stated below, the bridge will be operational to Commercial shipping during the period 1 hour 30 mins before and up to any high-water times which fall during these times, starting at 2000 hours and finishing at 0600 hours on the following day.

Commercial vessels wishing to take advantage of a bridge lift during the period 1.5 hrs before and up to any high water must inform Lowestoft Port Control prior to 2000hrs on the night of the closure. If no notification is received the maintenance of the bridge will continue through this period. Small craft and yacht opening times will be suspended throughout this period, advantage of a bridge lift may only be taken during this period if a commercial vessel has booked a lift.
