Great Yarmouth – Harbour Approaches
Survey Operations
Notice is hereby given that survey operations will be carried out in the seaward approaches to Great Yarmouth Harbour commencing on the 31st July, 2006 for two weeks.
A small survey craft will operate within the area from the shore along latitude 52 degrees 35 minutes North to longitude 01 degrees 45 minutes East, thence south to latitude 52 degrees 34.2 minutes North and thence west to the shore. (This area includes the harbour entrance and extends approximately 6 cables to the north, 1 cable to the south and 4 cables to seaward of the piers.)
The survey vessel will be towing equipment up to 100 metres astern of the vessel and will be displaying signals as required by the International Collision Regulations. During her operations she will need to pass close to the north and south piers.
Any vessel requiring to transit the above mentioned area should contact Yarmouth Radio on VHF Channel 12 and seek advice. All vessels should give the survey vessel a wide berth, keeping well clear at all times.
