Powered Hire Boat Licensing
Powered Hire Boat Licensing –The Why and What and How
The Broads Authority (the Authority) exists for the purposes of conserving and enhancing the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads, promoting the special qualities of the Broads, and protecting the interests of navigation. To enable the Authority to achieve these aims the Broads Act 2009 introduced further provisions for the regulation and management of the navigation area of the Authority. These provisions include the introduction of a scheme for operators of hire boats to be licensed and for each vessel hired to be licensed.
