Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Broads Authority. We are seeking to take on volunteers in two roles to help us in care for the Broads National Park.

Please note all volunteers are asked to attend a one day Health and Safety and First Aid session. Those applying to volunteer with us are asked to be available for training on Saturday 9 March 2019.

Ranger Volunteers

The key responsibility for a Ranger Volunteer is to support our Rangers in carrying out their duties - protecting and enhancing the Broads and liaising with the public. Our Rangers split their time and effort between water and land-based activities and volunteers are expected to do the same. Ranger Volunteers follow a training programme that takes 2-3 years to complete designed to progressively increase the range of skills and activities a volunteer can confidently and competently contribute to the team.

Rangers work in teams based on river catchments within the Broads. When we recruit Ranger Volunteers we try very hard to recruit people who are local to a specific Ranger Team area base. This is to maximise our local engagement, local knowledge and minimise our carbon footprint from travel. As such, preference will be given to those individuals who live near Horning Water Works, NR12 8NP. Please bear this in mind when you apply.

For further details about the role please read the Ranger Volunteer Role Description.

To apply for this role please complete the online application.

The closing date for this role is midday on Friday 8 February 2019.

Interviews will be held at Horning Water Works between Monday 11 February and Friday 1 March 2019 (excluding weekends).

Events Volunteers

Are you able to help us promote an understanding of the Broads to a wide range of people, including children, at our Broads Authority events? We are looking to recruit individuals who are skilled at talking to the public, imparting information and inspiring visitors to get out and enjoy the Broads National Park.

Our Events Volunteers are the public face of the Broads Authority, attending over 20 events throughout the year and we would like to take on a few more people to help us. You will be asked to commit to helping with at least 6 events/days per year.

For further details about the role please read the Events Volunteer Role Description.
