Climate Change- Carbon Audit

Broads Authority Smart CarThe Broads Authority commissioned a Carbon Audit and Reduction Plan in 2009 to provide a snap-shot of the emissions of greenhouse gases in the Broads area. The work covered the operations of the Broads Authority, put into the context of other emissions associated with managing and enjoying the Broads and general emissions from the area. The work also tried to make an estimate of the carbon stored in the area in the soil and vegetation. The report was undertaken by the Low Carbon Innovation Centre at UEA along with consultants Best Foot Forward using grant support from the Broads Sustainable Development Fund.

Alongside the main report is a technical report that explains the thinking behind the scope of the report and the methodology used so the work can be repeated in future years. It is based on the year 2008/9 and seeks to include all the main greenhouse gases (GHG). The context for the work and a commentary on the findings can be found here .

Information from the report can be reproduced but please acknowledge its source.
