Authority investigating after four injured in boat collision

The Broads Authority is investigating after four people were injured during a collision between a moving boat and a stationary vessel late last night.

Emergency Services were called to Oulton Broad at 11 pm to reports that a man, woman and two children had been injured in the incident.

All four were taken to the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston. The woman and a girl, aged seven, remain in hospital, both in a serious but stable condition. The woman suffered a fractured back and skull and the girl has been transferred to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital to receive treatment for forehead injuries.

Another girl, aged 10, and the man sustained minor injuries.

An Authority spokesman said: “Broads Authority officers will be working with Suffolk Police, the Marine Accident Investigation Branch and the Marine and Coastguard Agency to investigate the collision. We wish a full recovery to those involved.”
