A Cheltenham family are making their first visit to the Broads when they claim first prize in the EnjoytheBroads 2013 competition.
David Whitehead is enjoying a five day stay from Monday to Friday at Willow Cottage, part of the Dairy Barns complex at Hickling, with his wife Sally, 23 year old son Matthew and his parents in law.
David, who had to enter his name and address on the enjoythebroads website, which has a wealth of information for a holiday on the Broads, said he had been looking for somewhere new.
The family plan to explore the Broads, see the seals on the beach at Horsey and visit Norwich, the only city in the UK which encompasses a national park.
He said: “It’s a nice time of year to get away without the crowds after the winter. We’re really looking forward to getting out and about.”
Dairy Barns and Willow Cottage are situated on a 360 acre working family farm owned and run by Hannah and Ian Deane.
People can now enter for the 2014 EnjoytheBroads competition on www.enjoythebroads.com which offers a £300 prize for a Hoseasons boating or land based holiday. The closing date is August 31st.
