Go Wild at Whitlingham Country Park
Thursday 17 August 10am –4pmGo Wild at Whitlingham and dip into a host of fun activities on land and water right on Norwich’s doorstep on Thursday 17 August 10 am – 4 pm.
The ever popular Go Wild at Whitlingham family fun day will be in full swing. with two bands playing on the Little Broad beach throughout the day.
Explore the park and the working quarry with a half hour landrover safari, or take to the water in a canoe or a Wayfarer sailing dinghy from Whitlingham Outdoor Education Centre. You will need to book for all three trips. Children can join the RSPB in the mysteries of pond dipping and bug hunting, watch Nutmeg Puppet Company perform its enchanting outdoor educational show "Heatwave", count their steps round a treasure trail with pedometers, or have their faces painted in beautiful wildlife designs.
Find out how walking can benefit your health, visit the Norfolk Police Mobile Police Station, and discover all about the country park and the Broads in the new Whitlingham Visitor Centre, converted from a beautiful Norfolk brick and flint barn, where you can also have a bite to eat.
Visitors are invited to leave their cars at home and travel by river bus from Elm Hill Quay, Norwich, at 10.00, 11.00, 12.00, 14.00, 15.00 and 16.00 picking up at Station Quay 15 minutes later.
