New Chairman to lead key consultative body
Having recently retired as the Chairman of the East of England Tourist Board, Jonathan Bowman is to take on the Chairmanship of the Broads Forum, the consultative body which makes recommendations on major Broads Authority policies, plans and proposals before they are considered by the Authority.
Jonathan has a largely private sector background and has enjoyed the Broads area during his 19 years of living in Norfolk. He lists his interests as sailing, music, reading, writing and gardening. He owns two boats and has a keen interest in conservation issues and recognises the importance of the Broads as a regional asset.
Kerry Turner, Chairman of the Broads Authority said, " I am very pleased that Jonathan has accepted the position of Chairman of the Forum. It has been an a successful and innovatory development for the Authority and its importance can only increase in the future, so I am looking forward to working with him."
Jonathan will be Chairing the next meeting of the Broads Forum on 12 April 2007.
