Boat Safety Scheme advice at Norfolk Boat Jumble
The Broads Authority will be at the Norfolk Boat Jumble at the Royal Norfolk Showground on Sunday 6 April to give advice to boat owners about the Boat Safety Scheme.
This year, the second phase of the three year scheme is being implemented in which all remaining hire craft, under 30 m², and private motor craft of 11 m² and above need to comply with the scheme from 1 April. All remaining private motor and sailing craft will need to comply from 1 April 2009.
The BSS is a four yearly MOT type test for boats with engines, cooking, heating, lighting, refrigerating and other domestic appliances.
Officers from the Broads Authority and from the National Boat Safety Scheme office will be at the show to provide information and answer questions.
