Broads Authority Chief Executive to race at Oulton Regatta
Broads Authority Chief Executive Dr John Packman will be sampling the thrills of racing the big boats of The Broads when he crews Raisena no 3 owned and helmed by Martin Broom, Chairman of the Broads Authority’s Navigation Committee, in the lunchtime river cruiser race at Oulton Broad Regatta on Friday 22 August.
Martin, who is Commodore of the River Cruiser Class, will also be crewed by members of his family, his wife Jennifer, daughter Mandy and son-in-law Nick Hovey, as well as Lucy and Matthew Truman and Nick Eastwood on the mainsheet.
John Packman has been visiting sailing clubs on The Broads, crewing in a White Boat at Horning Week, helming a Wayfarer at Coldham Hall and plans to race at Buckenham Ferry. He has also crewed a Rebel in two Three Rivers Races.
