Broads' Spooky Spectacular draws crowds

homepage-imageThe usually peaceful setting of Whitlingham Country Park was transformed into a horrible haven for Witches, Wizards, Warewolves and their parents, as the Broads Authority staged a spooky Halloween Workshop.

The three hour session saw over 50 children of all ages take part in fiendish fun and frolics including pumpkin carving, apple bobbing, and broomstick-making. There was scary storytelling, magic wand making and as dusk fell the children and parents went on a creepy ghost walk, led by staff and volunteers from the Broads Authority and Whitlingham Country Park who helped to make the experience memorable, taking on the guises of ghosts, ghouls and horrid horrors.

Whitlingham Country Park manager Russell Wilson said that the event, which has seen numbers grow year on year since it was started in 2007 was one a highlight in the events calendar, saying “This is one of the events that we look forward to each year as it’s great fun, and an entirely new use of the country park.”
