36 Boaters met Broads Authority navigation rangers at St Benet’s Abbey on Sunday, 23rd May  for a Super Safety Day.

The rangers were on hand  giving free boat safety checks, advice and navigation information.

The start of the Broads boating season has already brought in a flurry of satisfied visitors complimenting Broads Authority front line staff for their help and expertise with navigation  incidents.

One couple wrote to the Broads Authority praising a navigation ranger who organised their rescue after their boat had been blown adrift on Barton Broad earlier this month.  They said: “his attitude and care made a potentially unpleasant experience something of an adventure, and his efforts were thoroughly appreciated. If your navigation ranger is representative of the professionalism and care that can be expected by all visitors, I imagine you receive plenty of compliments.”

Navigation rangers involved in rescues on Breydon Water and quay rangers at Gt Yarmouth and Norwich Yacht Stations and  Reedham quay
also received  praise.
