Broads slipway closed for repairs
The slipway at South Walsham Broad has been closed on safety grounds until further notice.
The slipway, which is owned by the Broads Authority and managed by South Walsham Parish Council, needs significant work to make it fit to use.
Parts of the slipway are rotten with holes beneath the surface making it dangerous for use by vehicles and trailers and the adjacent quay heading, which is unsafe for the general public who may be visiting the site and boaters embarking and disembarking, will need to be re-piled.
The Broads Authority is working closely with the parish council on this issue and it is hoped that the repairs can be completed in time for next summer.
