Planning for the Future of the Broads

homepage-imageThe Broads Authority is seeking the views of local residents, businesses, groups and organisations as it reviews and updates its management plan for this magical waterland.

The Broads Plan is the key strategic plan for the Broads. It covers a wide range of issues from conserving the area’s natural beauty, wildlife and heritage to protecting the interests of navigation and promoting people’s understanding and enjoyment.

Looking forward, the biggest challenge facing the area is the impact of climate change and sea level rise. How we meet that challenge for the benefit of the Broads’ environment and communities will be a key theme in this Broads Plan.

While the Authority is responsible for its production, the Plan is for everyone with an interest in the Broads. Over the summer the Authority is inviting people to give their views on priorities for the next five years (2011-2016) and longer term.

Consultation on the draft Broads Plan will take place from 7 June to 13 August 2010. For more information, visit the Authority’s website at www.broads-authority.gov.uk, email broadsplan@broads-authority.gov.uk or contact the Authority on 01603 610734.
