Applications & Decisions
Planning Applications within the Broads Area
Planning applications are formally registered and processed by the relevant District Council planning department on behalf of the Broads Authority.
We provide advice on applying for planning permission, including making applications online and how to view and download digital copies of drawings and documents accompanying applications.
If you wish to discuss the progress of any application with the case officer, or comment on a proposed application, you should do so within seven days of the date of the current weekly list of New Applications being published. You can also check the progress of an online planning application by looking at the application workflow.
Planning Decisions
The Broads Authority has the responsibility for making formal decisions on applications within the Broads area. The Broads Planning Committee meets regularly to discuss planning issues and specific planning applications. Final Decisions and associated officer reports are available to view with Planning Committee agendas and minutes. The Broads Authority has introduced a scheme (pdf document) [26kb] to allow people with an interest in a planning application in the Broads to speak directly to the Planning Committee. If an application you have an interest in goes before the committee, you will be allowed to speak about it. Not all planning applications require consideration by the full Planning Committee. The Broads Authority has agreed a Scheme of Powers Delegated to Officers. This describes the applications which can be determined by District Officers and those which are to be considered by the Planning Committee.
