Landscape Character Assessment
This Character Assessment (pdf) [124kb] was completed in 2006. Established methodologies, outlined in the report, were used to collate the information. The Broads area presented some unique challenges in the assessment process due to the nature of its simple elemental, low lying physical landscape.
The process has concentrated on identifying a series of Local Character Areas each with a unique set of characteristics, which combine to give them their own distinct sense of place. The work has been subject to consultation with a variety of organisations and has been reviewed by the individual Parish Councils within the area covered.
The work will continue to evolve as further information is gathered from local communities and resources found to update and enhance the information. If you have information pertinent to the Local Character Areas please email Lesley.Marsden@Broads-Authority.gov.uk
