Local Government Transparency Code

To promote openness and transparency, the UK government recommends that local authorities publish specific key datasets. These are listed in the Department for Communities and Local Government's (DCLG) Local Government Transparency Code 2014.

The following tables below set out links to the mandatory data and information that the Authority is required to publish quarterly, annually and only once. As this is a new requirement, and some information is annual, not all of the information is currently available. This page will be updated.

All of the information included in the Inventory of Data can be used and re-used under the terms of the Open Government Licence, published by the National Archive - please familiarise yourself with the terms of the licence before re-using any of the data.

Meeting Agendas and Reports

You will find details of Authority Meetings, agendas, minutes and the associated reports online. Other key documents are also accessible online, such as the Authority Business Plan, Partnership Plan and other key strategic documents. Freedom of Information (FOI)

Much of our data is already published, check the Open Data section below or our Records of Decisions to see if the information you want is available. If the information you want is not already published, please send your request to foieir@exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk detailing the information you would like and in what format. We will do our best to provide you with any information you ask for, provided there is no restriction on disclosing it.

When we receive your request:

  • we may contact you to clarify some details
  • if we already publish the information, we will tell you how to find it
  • if we hold the information, we will try to provide it in your preferred format within 20 working days
  • if it’s a large search and copy request we may request additional time to process it or charge a fee to cover costs; we will tell you how much it is so you can choose whether you want to continue
  • if we can’t provide all or part of the information you’ve requested, we will explain why.

If you are unhappy with a refusal to disclose information, we can review your request internally first. If you are still unhappy you can contact the Information Commissioner.

There are three specific and separate legal rights for you to make a formal request for information.

N/A - The Authority does not fall under S.55 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Traffic Management Act 2004 as it does not maintain designated  (i.e. on street) parking spaces which are in a Civil Enforcement Area and therefore does not produce a parking account.

The Authority does, however, maintain off street parking facilities at various points within the National Park. In 2016/17 receipts from managed car parks (Tarr Steps and the Valley of the Rocks) and donations from cairns at other car parking sites amounted to £58,528

Parking spaces - Number of marked out controlled on and off-street parking spaces or an estimate of the number of spaces where controlled parking space is not marked out in individual parking bays or spaces

Senior salaries - detail of number of employees whose remuneration was at least £50k in brackets of £5k, details of remuneration and job title of certain senior employees whose salary is at least £50k and employees whose salaries are £150k or more, identified by name.

In addition the Authority is required to provide:
