Prepare to Go Wild at Barton Turf this Sunday, 14 May, for a special Broads Outdoors Festival event.
Enjoy a fun-packed family day of pond dipping, wildlife trails, geocaching and craft activities. Try canoeing or take a boat trip on Barton Broad. The North Norfolk Worm Charming Championships will also be taking place as part of the event, so come and see if you can charm worms out of the ground using no more than a fork and a fiddlestick! (Any individual musical instrument may be used.)
Go Wild at Barton Turf takes place 11am-4pm, with worm charming 2-3pm, at Barton Turf Adventure Centre, Staithe Road, Barton Turf, Norwich NR12 8AZ. Free entry and parking, with charges for some activities such as boat trips and worm charming. No need to book, just turn up and join in. Refreshments will be available. Some areas may not be suitable for wheelchairs. No dogs please, except assistance dogs. For more details, including how to participate in the worm charming, go to www.btac-services.co.uk
The Broads Outdoors Festival continues until 21 May, featuring many different events across the Broads. “It’s a celebration of the wealth of activities on offer within the Broads National Park and has become a major feature on its calendar,” said Nick Sanderson, Education Officer at the Broads Authority.
