The Broads Authority maintain and protect the Broads National Park which is home to a quarter of the UK’s rarest wildlife, so it is fitting that they should be attending the Norfolk Festival of Nature on Sunday 22 April 2018 in the Forum, Norwich.
The Norfolk Festival of Nature will celebrate the cultural relationships which exist between people and the natural world. There will be an array of activities and talks on offer including the panel-led debate ‘Fighting for Nature’, children’s activities, storytelling, a nature writers workshop and experts talking on nature from the past, present and future.
The Broads Authority will be showcasing their typically unique stand with plenty on offer to excite young and old. There will be a reed bed selfie station full of props for you to create the Broads National Park picture of your dreams. There will also be a pond of aquatic creatures straight out of the Broads. You can learn more about these creatures and see them in a way you’ve never experienced thanks to a microscope and camera hooked up to a screen so that you can view what’s going on inside the water. There will also be an array of craft activities for children to enjoy as well as leaflets and information available to learn more about the Broads National Park and to speak directly with Broads Authority staff.
Broads Authority Communication Officer, Tom Waterfall who be attending the event said,
“We’re looking forward to setting up in Norwich and meeting people who are as enthusiastic about nature as we are. The River Wensum is part of the Broads National Park and it flows straight through Norwich so we’re very lucky to have a city incorporated into the Park. It’s a wonderful way to engage with people who might have seen the river but perhaps haven’t realised that it’s part of the Broads system and that this amazing landscape is right on their doorstep."
