Broads Village back for 2025 with fun activities for all

The Broads Village is back at the Norfolk Show for 2025, offering a whole heap of exciting activities for visitors, families and school groups which showcase the special qualities of the Broads' unique landscapes.

Two people, a man in a teal “Broads Ranger” polo and a woman in a black “Fire & Rescue” uniform, engage in an outdoor activity at an event. Overlaid in the centre is a large emblem reading “The Royal Norfolk Show” with a crown and field logo above it, a Union Jack flag below, and ribbon banners displaying the event dates: “25 & 26 June 2025.” Trees and grass are visible in the background.

Our team have been busy preparing, along with a host of our partner organisations, to give a warm welcome to the thousands of visitors who will descend on the Broads Village this week from Wednesday 25 to Thursday 26 June.

Coming back to the award-winning corner of the show are family-favourite activities including pond-dipping, badge-making, nature quizzes, throw-line games and lots more. We also have some exciting new things to see including an underwater submersible drone which will allow us to see in the pond, an exploration of the amazing soils found in the Broads and more.

Joining the Broads Authority are partner organisations both new and old, and there will be displays from the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, RNLI, Plant Life, Broads Society, Woodland Trust, Nancy Oldfield, Norfolk Water Sports, Ferry Marina and the Museum of the Broads amongst others.

Our picks for things not to miss include:

Two young girls in blue checkered school uniforms and colorful backpacks participate in a craft activity at an outdoor event. One girl, wearing sunglasses and a birthday badge, smiles while holding a red pen. The other, in a pink cap, looks on. A table in front of them is covered with bright paper, pens, and markers. A “Broads National Park” tent is visible in the background.

  • Discover incredible artefacts as the pop-up Museum of the Broads brings the region’s rich waterway heritage to life.
  • Get up close to fascinating creatures and aquatic insects with pond dipping, and explore the unique ecology of the waterways.
  • Play a fun game with ancient animals like the woolly mammoth and guess which species once called the Broads their home.
  • Take on fun quizzes to win Broads-themed goodies.
  • Create your own children's badge with iconic Broads-inspired designs.
  • Learn essential life-saving skills with Broads Authority Rangers and RNLI, including how to throw a safety line.

The weather forecast is looking like a warm one, so a visit to the Broads Village offers the perfect spot to relax, get away from the crowds and unwind in our leafy corner of the Norfolk Showground.

We're also delighted to be supporting the team at Great Fen with their stand (27 - Avenue 2) who will be sharing information on the importance of peatland restoration and growing crops in peatland environments. Their display will allow visitors to get hands-on with natural materials and see how plants could allow us to build sustainably in the future.

You can find the Broads Village next to the Countryside Ring on the official Norfolk Show Map - see you there.
