George Boyd

Biography

I was raised, and currently reside in Chedgrave in South Norfolk. From a young age I had a small motorboat with a cuddy cabin moored at Hardley Staithe, and enjoyed going out for the weekend on fishing trips and an overnight stay on one of the broads or on the Chet. As a keen fisherman I have traversed many of the riverside footpaths looking for the best place to cast my line. I also enjoy going out on my kayak to explore some of the harder to reach areas such as the ‘everglades’ adjacent to Bargate at Surlingham, or the upper reaches of the Waveney from Geldeston to Bungay.

My main priority is to see how we can work closer with businesses and toll payers so that the Broads Authority can provide the best possible service and value for money for those who fund and use the waterways, promoting the enjoyment of the Broads by the public. I am also keen to preserve our natural landscapes and heritage so that future generations will enjoy the Broads as much as myself, family and friends have.
