Peter has been boating on the Broads since the late 1950’s and has been fortunate enough to have had a home on the side of Hickling Broad for 35 years. He sails a river cruiser and a dinghy and also enjoys canoeing, paddle boarding and gentle quanting in his vintage gun punt. His wife volunteers with the NWT and the Friends of Horsey Seals.
His working life was initially in investment and finance and subsequently running a variety of businesses. He has had a long standing involvement in affordable housing and chaired the Housing Corporation, the funder and regulator of the social housing sector. He was chair of University College London Hospitals for nearly 10 years and was also appointed by Monitor, the NHS regulator to chair several failing NHS trusts.
His work in the charitable sector includes being a trustee of the National Parks Foundation and he was until recently the chair of Diabetes UK.
